Jennifer Cleveland’s expertise in early care and education (ECE) research focuses on quality improvement and the factors that promote and sustain it. Her interests include quality rating and improvement systems (QRIS), continuous quality improvement (CQI) methodologies for practitioners in ECE settings, and how families engage in ECE systems. Jennifer leads the overall management and design of projects, including the sampling and recruitment of research participants, collecting data, compiling findings, and ensuring compliance to data security, the institutional review board, and quality control standards. She has served as project director of several projects about QRIS, quality improvement, and professional development. Her research goals include ensuring findings are actionable and meaningful for policymakers, practitioners, and families with young children.
