Deja Logan is a research analyst in the reproductive health and family formation area. As an undergraduate at Howard University, she majored in sociology and minored in community development. Deja’s honors thesis examined assimilation to American beauty standards among second-generation West African women. She also researched the socialization toward menstruation among Ghanaian adolescents. Prior to joining Child Trends, Deja interned with the Aspen Institute’s Latinos and Society program. Her research interests include the effects of race and socioeconomic status on mate selection, marriage, and family structure.
