Yosmary Rodriguez is a senior research analyst in the education research area at Child Trends. Much of her work involves leading qualitative tasks, in both English and Spanish, for a variety of education and early childhood research and evaluation projects. She is also experienced in project management and currently serves as the Project Director for the National Center for Parent, Family, and Community Engagement.
Yosmary has expertise in school-based mental health, family and community engagement, and program evaluation. Her past projects have included leading a community-based participatory research project that sought to illuminate the experiences of diverse families accessing and using services (e.g., education, childcare, healthcare) in New Hampshire; leading an evaluation of crisis service and response across DC schools as part of a study conducted in partnership with the DC Department of Behavioral Health to evaluate the expansion of comprehensive school behavioral health supports in DC; and providing technical assistance to school administrators as part of an implementation evaluation of a school climate framework in DC public and public charter schools. Prior to joining Child Trends, Yosmary served as an AmeriCorps member with Teach for America in Fort Worth, Texas, where she taught 3rd grade Dual Language.
She received her master’s in educational psychology from George Mason University where she completed her capstone on teachers’ preparedness to support student mental health.
