Senior Research Communications Assistant

Mayson Stowers is a senior research communications assistant within the client communications program area at Child Trends. She is a highly effective communications manager and marketing strategist who is passionate about using health education to benefit communities across the country. Currently, Stowers’ work focuses on a range of communications activities for both the HHS Office of Population Affairs (OPA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Stop STDs initiative, and OPA’s Breakthrough Accelerator project. These activities include social media strategy and implementation, content development, youth engagement, graphic design, event planning, and website management. 
 
Previously, Stowers was a communications and development specialist for non-profits based in North Carolina, where she aimed to address holistic communication needs, marketing strategy, and social media development for non-profits and local businesses. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and studio art from Meredith College, in addition to certifications in integrated marketing strategy and planning from Wake Forest University and social media marketing from James and Park.
