Jasmine Henderson, BA, is a research communications specialist in client communications. She focuses on getting high-quality and up-to-date adolescent health and sexual and reproductive health information to Child Trends’ key partners and audiences, including youth and families. Henderson specializes in digital accessibility and is passionate about creating positive online experiences for disabled people and people with disabilities. Henderson also audits products for accessibility and conducts trainings on remediation.
Henderson serves as deputy project director for Child Trends’ strategic communications contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Population Affairs (OPA). In addition to managing the work of the team across tasks, she leads website maintenance and usability, oversees compliance with accessibility guidelines, and manages subcontractors. She generates budgets and cost estimates, consults on product remediation and accessible solutions, creates website maintenance and usability reviews, and develops and implements quality control plans.
Henderson studied sociology at Arcadia University, where she conducted a content analysis of pregnancy images in popular television shows for her senior thesis. Prior to studying sociology, Henderson completed coursework in early childhood development and worked in early education centers. Her interests include disability inclusion and equity, gender–expansive and transgender youth experiences, and adolescent transitions to adulthood.
