Emily Baqir is the communications manager for Child Trends. In this role, Emily maintains the organization’s social media presence, supports digital media efforts, and provides traditional media support to researchers and the press. She also advises project teams on project promotion strategies, supports project management, and contributes to the overall organizational communications strategy. Prior to working at Child Trends, Emily served as the education program assistant for three years at the Duke Global Health Institute, where she provided administrative, communications, and event support to faculty, staff, and students.

Emily graduated from Salisbury University with bachelor’s degrees in English and communication arts and from the University of Florida with an MA in mass communications with a concentration in public relations.
